Systems & Automation: Reducing Costs by Building Smarter Infrastructure

One of my biggest contributions to the business wasn’t about launching a product or growing sales — it was building the infrastructure that allowed us to scale without adding headcount.

Early on, we relied heavily on people to manage customer service, creative work, and fulfillment. I stepped in to reduce that overhead by creating processes and automations that let us do more with fewer resources. I introduced platforms like eDesk to centralize and automate customer service, drastically cutting down response time and the number of agents we needed.

For project management, I built out our internal Trello system with clear procedures that kept the team aligned and made it easy to track creative work, product launches, and marketing tasks without things falling through the cracks.

In the warehouse, I helped implement Sellercloud and worked with developers to build custom bots — including pre-market automations that allowed us to leverage Amazon’s FBA network to fulfill orders from our own website. This shift alone eliminated a major chunk of manual labor and fulfillment complexity.

By setting up the right systems, we were able to reduce our labor costs and lean on automation to grow across multiple channels — all without sacrificing speed or quality.
